Biography
Ed Zaunbrecher is the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Purdue University, a position he assumed in 2006. Widely respected as one of the top offensive minds in collegiate football, particularly for his knowledge of the passing game, Zaunbrecher has over three decades of experience as a collegiate coach (Illinois, Florida, Marshall, Louisiana-Monroe, Michigan State, Louisiana State University, Wake Forest, Purdue, Arizona), including five seasons as head coach at Louisiana-Monroe. He has coached 69 players who have garnered All-Conference recognition, including 42 who were subsequently drafted by the NFL. Nine quarterbacks he has coached set school passing records, including Chris Leak (Florida), Rex Grossman (Florida), Chad Pennington (Marshall), Byron Leftwich (Marshall), Tommy Hodson (LSU), Jeff Wickersham (LSU), Raymond Philyam (ULM), Mark Hermann (Purdue), and Jim Miller (Michigan State). In his career, he has coached in more than a dozen bowl games, including four January bowl games.
